Kalani Math League Team

Oahu Mathematics LeagueOne of the most active academic teams on campus, the Kalani Math League team is a member of the Oahu Mathematics League (OML)—a consortium of over thirty public and private schools from across the island that has been sponsoring high-school level mathematics competitions for over thirty years.

2003 Most Improved TeamHeld seven times per year, OML meets typically attract over 300 students, and consist of six events lasting ten minutes each during which competitors take three-question tests on subjects ranging from first-year algebra to trigonometry and analytic geometry. Each participant competes in three events, team scores are tallied, and a spirited-but-friendly rivalry between schools is fostered. Because of its small size and active schedule, the Kalani Math League team gives individual students the opportunity to receive recognition for their achievements, gain valuable leadership experience, and foster close and lasting friendships.

The Kalani Math League team has more than its fair share of scientists, mathematicians, and engineers among its alumni (not to mention doctors, lawyers, architects, teachers, and professionals of all kinds), and all current students with a desire to meet new people, make new friends, and share their love of mathematics and problem solving are invited to join its ranks. Listen for announcements in the daily bulletin and keep checking in this space for the latest news and information on Kalani's premiere academic team.
